‘Mater Ex Machina is a robot that learns human expressions through machine learning to embody the relationship between man and technology. Jinah Roh, an interactive media artist, used traditional sculpting techniques to create the face of the robot modelled on her own mother. The humanoid learns the audience’s facial expressions, accumulates data, and imitates these gestures to visitors.
